Privacy Policy

Account details. When you create an account we receive your name, email address and a unique identifier from your sign-in provider (Google or Apple). We never receive your sign-in password.

Learning data. We store your study activity — words and grammar you have learned, lesson and story progress, streaks, flashcard reviews and speaking-practice transcripts — so the app can track your progress and personalise your practice.

Device & usage data. We collect basic technical information such as device type, operating-system version, app version and anonymised usage events to keep the app reliable and to improve it.

To provide the core learning experience — saving progress, scheduling reviews and generating your speaking feedback.

To personalise recommendations such as the next lesson, words due for review and stories at your level.

To maintain, secure and improve the service, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.

During speaking practice your microphone audio is processed to transcribe what you said and to generate a reply. Transcripts are stored against your account so you can review past sessions. You can delete this history at any time from within the app.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted providers that operate the app on our behalf — including cloud hosting, authentication and, where applicable, app-store billing — and only to the extent needed to run the service.

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us.

JIKARA is intended for learners aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
